Answer with Explanation:

After crossing the Jordan river from Judea, Jesus was preaching once more (particularly in Perea). Perea was considered a part of King Herod the Great's territory.

There, he was met by a man who asked him whether those who will be saved were only few. This refers to the "salvation" that Jesus has been preaching from city to city. Jesus responded to the man by saying that "vigorous effort" is important in order to be saved. Many will seek salvation, but only few will be able to achieve it. This was because people do not take the opportunity to truthfully worship God. They do this by being a hypocrite. Thus, those who seem to be in the last will be first, while those who seem to be in the first will be the last.

After this, the Pharisees started telling Jesus to get away because Herod was looking out to kill him. Nevertheless, Jesus responded by saying that no one can manipulate God's timing and schedule. Then, he proceeded to Jerusalem after it.
