Joseph has enough pieces to make the box

Solution:

Joseph needs 12 pieces of lumber to make a toy box

He has 10 feet of lumber. He is going to cut them into 2/4 feet equal lengths

From given information,

Total feet of lumber = 10 feet

Length of 1 piece =
(2)/(4) \text{ feet}

Therefore, number of pieces that can be cut from total feet of lumber is found by dividing the total feet by length of 1 piece

\text{Number of pieces} = \frac{\text{total feet of lumber}}{\text{length of 1 piece}}

Substituting the values we get,

\text{Number of piece} = (10)/((2)/(4))\\\\\text{Number of piece} = 10 * (4)/(2)\\\\\text{Number of piece} = 20

Thus he will get 20 pieces of equal length

Joseph needs 12 pieces of lumber to make a toy box. So he has enough pieces to make the box
