Let, the speed of the airplane is x miles/hour and the wind is w miles/hour.

With the wind, the speed will be (x + w) miles/hour and against the wind, the speed will be (x - w) miles/hour.

As per the given question,
3.6(x + w) = 1800\\4(x - w) = 1800\\(x - w) = 450or, w = x - 450.

Now,
3.6(x + w) = 1800\\2x -450 = 500\\2x = 950\\x = 475.

Thus, w = 475 - 450 = 25.
