Explanation:

exponents then multiply/divide then add/subtraction & of course if it is in *parentheses*, its first (and always go fro left to right)

(-5*(-3^2)+12)/4

exponents: -3^2=-3*-3=9

and then multiply -5*9=-45

then add -45+12=33

and then because of the parentheses, *now* divide 33/4=8.25
