In a conversation before class, you find that you are the only person in your group to favor tuition increases. The other five students with whom you are talking strongly oppose tuition increases. What might you do to persuade them of your point of view? What form of social influence would you rely on? Provide a concrete example.

Answer:

I will use informational conformity and minority influence to try and convince them. Firstly, I will try to convince the five people with whom I am well acquainted to. I will be consistent in my trying to convince them, as consistency forms the basis to minority influence. I will give them reasons to show my ideas or views are correct and try as much as possible not to deviate from my perception. After convincing the five, I will then try to convince one or two more and just like that, I will have allies and this can make a great difference in my quest.

Answer&Explanation:

I would have to rely on minority influence and informational conformity. In order to accomplish this I need to provide concrete information and examples to this other five members of the groups, examples that will appeal to their emotions such that they will realise the effect of a low tuition fee. I would also try to relate these examples to show them how this affect them personally , people are easily convinced if they see that something affect them personally. Once they have been convinced and persuaded by logical reasons and examples that relate to them personally then I would have been able to establish an ally
