The length of the puma in the drawing, to the nearest tenth of a centimeter is 4.9 centimeter

Solution:

Given that actual length of puma is 2.45 m

The scale of a drawing of puma is 1 cm : 0.5 m

To find: length of the puma in the drawing

From given information,

scale = 1 cm : 0.5 m

This means that, 1 cm is equivalent to 0.5 m in drawing

Therefore, we get

1 cm = 0.5 m

Then for 1 meter we get,

1 \text{ meter} = (1)/(0.5) \text{ centimeter }

We have to find the length of puma in drawing

Actual length = 2.45 m

Convert 2.45 meter to centimeter

1 * 2.45 \text{ meter } = (1)/(0.5) * 2.45 \text{ centimeter }\\\\2.45 \text{ meter } = (2.45)/(0.5) = 4.9 \text{ centimeter}

Thus length of the puma in the drawing, to the nearest tenth of a centimeter is 4.9 centimeter
