Question:

There are 25 students in the class. Ten students have a sports practice after school. What is the ratio of students that do have practice, to those that do not?

Answer:

Ratio of students that do have practice, to those that do not is 2 : 3

Solution:

Total number of students = 25

Students those practice sports = 10

Therefore,

Student who do not have sports practice = 25 - 10 = 15

The required ratio is given as:

Ratio = Students those practice sports : Student who do not have sports practice

Ratio = 10 : 15

Reduce the ratio to lowest term by dividing by5

Ratio = 2 : 3

Thus ratio of students that do have practice, to those that do not is 2 : 3

Question:

A table measures 3 feet across. How many inches is this?
