first we put them in y = mx + b form...then we compare the slopes and the y int's. In y = mx + b form, the slope is in the m position and the y int is in the b position.

2x + 2y = 8

2y = -2x + 8

y = -x + 4......slope here is -1 and y int is 4

3x + y = 8

y = -3x + 8.....slope here is -3 and y int is 8
