Answer:

The age of Age of Joe is 14 years .

Explanation:

Given as :

The statement is

Three times age of the Middle brother is 12 less than twice the sum of the ages of Joe and the youngest brother .

As The age of brothers are consecutive even integers

Let The Age of oldest brother Joe = 2 x + 4

Let The Age of middle brother = 2 x + 2

Let The Age of younger brother = 2 x

Now, According to statement

3 × (2 x + 2) = 2 × [ (2 x + 4) + (2 x) ] - 12

Or, 3 × 2 x + 3 × 2 = 2 × (2 x + 4) + 2 × (2 x) - 12

Or, 6 x + 6 = 2 × 2 x + 2 × 4 + 4 x - 12

Or, 6 x + 6 = 4 x + 8 + 4 x - 12

Or, 6 x + 6 = 8 x - 4

Or, 8 x - 6 x = 6 + 4

Or, 2 x = 10

∴ x =
(10)/(2)

i.e x = 5

So, The age of Age of oldest brother Joe = 2 x + 4 = 2 × 5 + 4 = 14 years

The Age of middle brother = 2 x + 2 = 2 × 5 + 2 = 12 years

The Age of younger brother = 2 x = 2 × 5 = 10 years

Hence, The age of Age of Joe is 14 years . Answer
