Jeff is getting his first cell phone.

The plan he has chosen has an initial
fee of $35 plus a charge of $0.25 per
minute. This plan can be represented
by the function f(x) = 0.25x + 35. How
much money will Jeff pay this month
if he uses 250 minutes?

In the given equation x is the number of minutes.

Replace x with 250 and solve for the total cost:

0.25(250) + 35 = 62.50 + 35 = 97.50

The total would be $97.50
