Explanation: Spain showed great interest in colonization of the new world during the 1500s. During the 1500s the Americas where seen as the new worlds after it was discovered by an Italian from Florent who explorered and mapped out the new world,his name is Amerigo Vespucci between 1503-1504.

After capturing the Aztec and Inca empires Spain discovered great amount of Gold and silver which they took away for financial gains.

Britain gave up it's interest of colonizing the new world to ensure its peaceful coexistence with Spain.
