Answer:
learned helplessness
Step-by-step explanation:
A person acquires the perception that they are unable to change or control a situation after experiencing a repeatedly stressful condition in their life so much so that they give up on adding up any efforts even when they find opportunities and such a perception is known as
learned helplessness.
Learned helplessness can arise when a particular individual faces a lot of stressful situations in their life repeatedly and constantly fails to make it better and thus, their state of mind fixates on the fact that no matter what the condition they are bound to face failures and hence, they start feeling helpless.
The condition may also arise if a person is suffering from a mental illness such as clinical depression.
