Solution:-

\sf{x^2-14x = 6}

\sf{x^2-14x+30-6 = 0}

\sf{x^2-14x+24 = 0}

By using splitting the middle term method:

\sf{x^2-12x-2x+24 = 0 }

\sf{x(x-12)-2(x-12) = 0}

\sf{ (x-12)(x-2) = 0}

Now, if
\sf{(x-12) = 0} then,

\sf\blue{x = 12}

And, if
\sf{(x-2) = 0} then,

\sf\blue{ x = 2}

So, x is equal to either 12 or 2 are the solution of the given equation.
