-12p+35q=-15/4

get rid of the value p

(-3)(-4p+7q=-19/4)

-12p+35q=-15/4 =

12p-21q=57/4

-12p+35q=-15/4 =

14q=21/2

q= 21/2 /14

q=3/4

substitute q=3/4 into an equation 1 to find p

-4p+7q=-19/4

-4p+7(3/4)=-19/4

-4p+21/4=-19/4

-4p=-19/4-21/4

-4p=-10

p=-10/-4

p=5/2
