A jug contains 600 milliliters (mL) of

water. Water is poured out of the jug at a
constant rate of 40 mL per second. The
amount of water, y, left in the jug after x
seconds is y= 600 – 40x.

600-40x6=

40x6=240

600-240=360

Answer: 360 (mL) Remain in the jug after 6 seconds.
