Explanation:

The formula for the volume of a prism is V=Bh, where B is the base area and h is the height. The base of the prism is a rectangle. The length of the rectangle is 4 and the width is 3/2 (1 1/2 = 3/2). The area A of a rectangle with length l and width w is A=lw

so the area of the base is 4 x 3/2 which is 6

then we multiply that by the height (3/2) to get 9.
