(D)affodil = 240
(T)ulip = 30
D = 8 x T
D + T = 270
8T + T = 270
9T = 270
270 divided by 9 = 30
T = 30
30 x 8 = 240
D = 240
(Add to check, 30 + 240 = 270

divide 270 and 9- and you will get thirty. there are going to be 30 tulip bulbs and 240 daffodil bulbs.
