How do you subtract fractions with different denominators (I completely forgot)​

Answer:

multiply them by a a number that allows the denominators to be the same

Explanation:

example

1/2-1/6

I would multiply 1/2 by 3 to get 3/6 which i could then subtract from 1/6

3/6-1/6 = 2/6
