Radius: half the maximum width of a circle

Height: The measure of how tall the cylinder is

Base Area: Can be found using the equation BA = π*r²

To find volume in terms of pi:

Only square the radius. Do not multiply the r² value by π. After squaring the radius, multiply it by the height of the cylinder.

Equation for Volume of a Cylinder = h*BA = h*π*r² =Volume

This can also be done in reverse if you know the volume and either the Base Area, the radius, or the height.

Simply do:


\sqrt{ (V)/(h*pi)} =r

to find the radius

OR


\sqrt{ (V)/(BA)} =h

to find the height

OR


(V)/(h) =BA

to find the Base Area
