The process is called desalination, and it is being used more and more around the world to provide people with needed freshwater. In some areas, salt water (from the ocean, for instance) is being turned into freshwater for drinking.

Answer:

The sun heats up our planet's oceans. ocean water evaporates leaving salt and other particles behind. this water vapor is now in the air and the atmosphere above us. when the air becomes too saturated, in other words when it can no longer hold on to water vapor, it condenses into liquid water droplets and forms clouds. when these clouds become too heavy and can no longer hold on to the water that has condensed, water is released and falls back to earth as fresh water.
