A local Bakery makes pies and cakes. The ratio of cakes sold to pies sold is 5:3. If they sell a total of 40 pies and cakes, how many of each did they sell?

40 - 5 = 35

35 - 3 = 32

27 - 3 = 24

24 - 5 = 19

12 - 3 = 19

20 : 12

19 - 5 = 14

14 - 3 = 11

25 : 15

25 + 15 = 40
