Explanation:

3b - 4/2 = c

the goal is to have b all by itself on one side of the equals sign.

start by moving the fraction over to where c is by adding.

3b = c + 4/2

adding -4/2 and +4/2 together makes it a 0 on the b side so there's no need to write anything in that space anymore.

Now 3b are next to each other which means they are multiplying. To move 3 we need to do the opposite (divide by 3 on both sides of the equal sign)

b = c/3 + 2/3

notice I divided both c and 4/2 by 3. 4/2 = 2 so I changed it to 2, then divided by 3
