In the diagram, line p is parallel to line q.
What is the value of x and y?

2x-11=73 as they are vertical angles
2x = 73+11
2x = 84
x = 42

Y + (2x-1) + 48 = 180 as those are components(angles) of a straight angle which is equal to 180 degrees

Now we substitute everything here Y + (2x-1) + 48 = 180 to find the Y

Y + (2*42 - 1) + 48 = 180
Y + 83 + 48 = 180
Y + 131 = 180
Y = 180 - 131
Y = 49

Answer: X = 42
Y = 49
