Answer:

Solution given:

length(l)=?

wide(b)=12ft

diagonal (d)=15ft

we know that

diagonal bisect a rectangle at 90°

so

By using Pythagoras law

hypotenuse ²=perpendicular ²+base²

d²=l²+b²

15²=l²+12²

l²=15²-12²

l²=81

l=
√(81)=9

The storage unit is 9ft long.

Answer:

  • 9 feet

Explanation:

Length - l, width- w, diagonal - d

Given:

  • w = 12 ft
  • d = 15 ft
  • l = ?

Find the value of l using Pythagorean:

  • l = √(d^2-w^2) =√(15^2-12^2) =√(225-144) =√(81) =9
