Yes
3-5/6 means 3 wholes + 5 1/6's
So
One whole contains
6×1/6=6 one sixths
So
3 whole contains
3(6)=18 one sixths
Now
Total
18+5
23 one sixths
23/6

3 5/6 = 3+5/6 = 3.6/6 + 5/6 = 18/6 + 5/6 = 23/6
