so all you have to do is substitute the values given

substitute the input into x

wait a minute.. its output so what you ACTUALLY have to do is

18 = 2x + 4

then solve for the inputs

14 = 2x

x = 7

22 = 2x + 4

18 = 2x

x = 9

34 = 2x + 4

30 = 2x

x = 15
