Answer:

A. 18

Explanation:

Let the number you are thinking of be n.

subtract 14: n - 14

tripled the difference: 3(n - 14)

result is two-thirds of the number: 3(n - 14) = 2/3 n

solving 3(n - 14) = 2/3n:

3n - 42 = 2n/3

9n - 126 = 2n

7n = 126

n = 18

Answer: A. 18
