Mrs Adams bought cinema tickets for 4 adults and their children.

An adult ticket costs £5
A child ticket costs £4
Mrs Adams paid a total of £48
Work out the number of child tickets bought by Mrs Adams.

Answer:

The number of children is 7 and adult is 4

Explanation:

I. Mrs Adams paid total 48 euro, for 4 adults and x children

When adult ticket cost 5 euro and children cost 4 euro

So Total price = Adult price + Children price

48 = 5(4) + 4(x)

48 = 20 + 4x

48 - 20 = 4x

28 = 4x

x = 28 ÷ 4

x = 7

Thats makes Mrs Adams bought ticket for 4 adults and 7 children.

4 adult costs 20 and 7 children costs 28
