You can find the two roots/x-intercepts by factoring the equation

X^2-x-2

x^2+x-2x-2

x(x+1) -2(x+1)

(x+1)(x-2)

So the two intersects are: -1 and 2

If you want more clarification as to how I did the factoring just lmk :)
