x= 4

Explanation:

Whenever you are solving a variable, you need it by itself (isolate for x)

-6 + x/4 = -5

Move the -6 to the right

x/4 = -5 +6

Simplify

x/4= 1

Multiply by 4

x= 4 x 1

x = 4
