Answer:

k = 2

Explanation:

slope = rise/run = (y1 - y2) / (x1 - x2)

s = (7 - (3-k)) / ((k+3) - (-5)) give slope is 3/5

3/5 = (7 - (3-k)) / ((k+3) - (-5)) then multiply both sides by ((k+3) - (-5))

(3/5)((k+3) - (-5)) = (7 - (3-k))

(3/5)(k+3+5) = 7 - 3 + k

(3/5)(k+8) = 4 + K

3k/5 + 24/5 = 4 + k

3k/5 - k = 4 - 24/5

3k/5 - 5k/5 = 20/5 - 24/5

-2k/5 = -4/5

-2k = -4

k = 2
