Multiply all the numbers by the outside number. ex: 3(2p + 9). Multiply 3 x 2 which is 6. then you multiply 3 x 9 which is 27. So the answer would be 6p + 28.

Pt 2. 3 times 2 is 6 so you get 6p. Then you multiply 3 times 3 which is 9. then 3 times 4p which is 6 p.

pt 3. combine the like terms. 6p + 12p equals 18p.

so the answer would be 18p + 9.
