Explanation:

  • 4-|x|=1

By subtracting 4 from both sides, we get

  • 4-|x|-4=1-4
  • -|x|=-3

Here for cancelling minus we can multiply or divide both sides by -1,

  • -|x|×-1=-3×-1
  • |x|=3

Or,

  • -|x|÷-1=-3÷-1
  • |x|=3

Hence the value of |x| is 3.

\\ \rm\longmapsto 4-|x|=1

  • Take 4 right

\\ \rm\longmapsto -|x|=1-4

\\ \rm\longmapsto -|x|=-3

\\ \rm\longmapsto |x|=3
