The Plaintiff runs a mail-order greeting card business in Iowa. The Plaintiff sent a catalog to the Defendant in the mail. The Defendant, a resident of New Jersey, after receiving the catalog placed an order with the Plaintiff over the telephone. This was the first time that the Defendant ever placed an order with the Plaintiff, although the Plaintiff previously had sent the Defendant catalogs. The Plaintiff shipped the cards to the Defendant, but the Defendant has refused to pay.

Required:

Answer:

This is a hard question, as the buisness is in iowa but I would say No. The actions did not take place in Iowa nor is the defendant a resident of the state. A New Jeresy Court would have jursidiction more likely.
