You can also do it as if you take the big triangles and add them together to get a square, you get a 4 x 4 square

Then you have the 1 x 8 rectangle

do the same thing with the tiny triangles as the big triangles, and you get 1

(4 x 4) + (1 x 8) + 1

16 + 8 + 1

24 + 1 = 25
