The larger of two numbers is 15 more than three times the smaller number. If the sum of the two

numbers is 63, find the numbers. (Help it’s due tomorrow)

Solution,

Let the smaller number be y, then

bigger number=3y+15

Now,

According to question

3y+15+y=63

4y+15=63

4y=63-15

4y=48

y=48/4

y=12

Hence,

smaller number=y=12

greater number=3y+15=3×12+15=51
