Hello!
I was thinking of displaying the steps and answer digitally this way, and not on the screen shot, if you are fine with that.
Alright, the word problem is here:
Large soda bottles are on sale three for six dollars. Sasha has eighteen dollars to spend on soda. How many large bottles of soda can she buy?
First let's write and equation for the large soda bottles:
3bottles = 6 dollars
how many per bottle?
divide 3 on both sides,
and it's 2 dollars per bottle,
Now she has eighten dollar's right?
18/2 = 9
I divide by two because we know that each water bottle is worth two bucks.
You could also do multiply three on both sides of this equation, 3bottles = 6 dollars
to get 9 bottles = 18 dollars
So the answer is:
Sasha can buy 9 large bottles of soda.
I hope this helps!
Have a wonderful day!
