When x = 4 ; y = (-3) *4 + 7 = -12 + 7 = -5

c) Let the consecutive even number = (2x + 2) & (2x + 4)

9 *greater number - 7 *smaller number = 46

9*( 2x+ 4 ) - 7(2x + 2)= 46

9*2x + 9*4 - 7 *2x - 7*2 = 46

18x + 36 - 14x - 14 = 46

18x - 14x + 36 - 14 = 46

4x + 22 = 46

4x = 46 - 22

4x = 24

x = 24/4

x = 6

2x + 2 = 2*6 + 2 = 12 + 2 = 14

2x +4 = 2*6 + 4 = 12 + 4 = 16
