Answer:

First, erosion is when earth materials (rocks, mountains, etc.) get "eaten" or worn away because of wind or any natural sources. Weathering is similar to erosion but the material gets worn away because it sits there too long.

Simple terms, erosion is when the material worn away and it carries the worn pieces somewhere else. Weathering is when the worn away pieces stays there/on spot.

In my opinion, yes this could happen. For example a mountain, it can be worn away by wind or water as time goes by. But it can also be worn down by weather and the worn pieces could roll down the mountain. If you happen to see a mountain, you can probably see rocks at the foot of the mountains. Which could be caused by weathering.
