If the functions f(x) and g(x) are

increasing on an interval, is the
interval? how about f(x) – g(x)?

The difference will be increasing too

Explanation:

If f(x) and g(x) is increasing in nature then

f(b) < f(a) and g(b) < g(a) for any a and b in the interval.

Subtracting these 2 equations, we get

f(b) - g(b) < f(a) - g(a) for any a and b in the interval.

Which means f-g is increasing in the interval (a, b) but as a and b were random real numbers we took, f(x) - g(x) will be increasing for an interval
