- On December 7 of 1941, the Empire of Japan attacked Pearl Harbor Naval Base in Hawaii. This attack caused a lot of fear about West Coast national security.
- Many of the people forced out were Japanese Americans that were full United States citizens.
- Men, women, and children were all "kicked out" of the States.
