Then, I used pythagorean theorem (since AD is perpendicular to BC): AD^2 + DE^2 = AE^2

Substitute: (2EC)^2 + (2EC)^2 = AE^2

Simplify: 4EC^2 + 4EC^2 = AE^2

AE^2 = 8CE^2
