LR = QR - PL = 6 - a

ΔPQR ~ ΔMLR

In similar triangles, corresponding sides are in same ratio.


(PQ)/(QR)=(ML)/(LR)\\\\(6)/(6)=(a)/(6-b)


1 =(a)/(6-b)

6 - b = a

6 = a + b

a +b = 6

Perimeter of rectangle = 2*(length +width}

= 2*(a+ b)

= 2 * 6

= 12
