Some people say that to be a truly great penetration tester, you need to have had some experience as a black-hat hacker. Discuss whether or not you think this is true, and why. When someone is a black-hat hacker, they may have motivations that drive them to put in many hours at hacking. How can someone who wants to start out as a white-hat hacker find similar motivation?

Answer:

Find what makes you love to hack

Step-by-step explanation:

This is a personal opinion, but from my experience as a programmer, I do not believe this is true. Motivation is specific to each individual and a white-hat hacker can find the same motivation in morally right decisions and paths. For example, a white-hat hacker may want to prevent people from being blackmailed, or may want to protect victims of human trafficking working for a company that focuses on hacking criminal cell phones, etc. These are some of many motivations that white-hat hackers can have that allows them to want to be the best that they can possibly be.
