Answer:

x = 7/4

Explanation:

4x + 3 = 10

4x = 10 - 3

4x = 7

x = 7 ÷ 4

x = 7/4

The first step is to subtract 3 from both sides (remember the Golden Rule of Algebra: Whatever we do to one side, we do to the other)

\tt{4x=10-3}


\tt{4x=7}

Divide both sides by 4 in order to isolate x:
