y = x - 10

slope - intercept form: y = mx + b

y2 - y1 -4 - ( -8 ) 4

--------- = ------------- = -------- = 1

x2 - x1 6 - 2 4

---------------------------------------------------------

y = mx + b

y = 1x + b

pick whichever point you want to use, for this I'll use (2, -8)

-8 = 1( 2) + b

-8 = 2 + b

-2 -2

-10 = b

y = 1x - 10 or y = x - 10
