#1

  • y=x³+2x²-8x
  • y=x(x²+2x-8)
  • y=x(x²+4x-2x-8)
  • y=x(x+4)(x-2)

roots

  • -4,0,2

No complex roots

#2

  • x³+2x²+2=0
  • x²(x+2)=-2

2 complex roots as if we graph it only x intercept we can get rest two roots are not real .

Check the graph

Answer:

hey mate here is ur answer:---------------------------------------------------

1) f (x) = x 3 + 2x 2 - 8x first factor of x ------> x( x^2 +2x -8) = 0 -------> x = 0 and x^2 +2x -8 = 0

1) f (x) = x 3 + 2x 2 - 8x first factor of x ------> x( x^2 +2x -8) = 0 -------> x = 0 and x^2 +2x -8 = 0 Now, you find b^2 -4ac that in this case will be = 2^2 -4*1*(-8) = 4 + 32 = 36 it means this equation has 2 different real roots and will be (-b ±√b^2 - 4ac) / 2a ------> x = 2 , -4 as result #1 has 3 real roots such as 0,2,-4

I hope this helps u

have a nice day
