I think it wants you to keep it in the form it showed. I remember doing this this year, so it should be:


(f(a+h)-f(a))/(h) = (3a +3h + 6 -(3a + 6) )/(h)

Then after this step you distribute the negative, and combine like terms. After, you divide the h and you get 3 as your answer.

IF it still doesn't work like how I showed it, contact your teacher for help, saying you are pretty sure you got it right (if you put mine and it didn't work) but it is saying it is incorrect.
