At the beginning of a population study, a city had 340,000 people. Each year since, the population has grown by 9.4%.

Let t be the number of years since start of the study. Let y be the city's population.

Write an exponential function showing the relationship between y and t.

Answer: y = 340000*(1.094)^t

This is the same as writing
y = 340000(1.094)^t

======================================================

Step-by-step explanation:

The answer above is in the form y = a*b^t

a = 340,000 = initial population

b = 1.094 = 1 + 0.094 = growth factor

Think of the growth factor as 100% + 9.4% = 109.4%
