Answer:

This question has a very imaginative answer.;)

m^2=-4

Therefore,

m=-4^0.5 or m=√-4

We know that √4 is 2. But the minus sign inside the root sign controls the game.

So now,

√-4=√4×√-1.

We know that no real number can have negative root because even if multiply a negative number with itself, then also it will form a positive number as 2 negatives make a positive.

Therefore the mathematicians have given this complicated number, √-1, the name iota and the symbol i. It's on this concept the complex numbers are based on.

Back to your question:

Therefore,

m=√-4=√4×√-1=2×√-1

Therefore,

m=2 i.

Hope this helps you.:)
